Hydro Plast – Structural Repair & Waterproof Repair Mortar
Hydro Plast is a high-performance fibre and polymer modified cementitious repair mortar specially developed for structural concrete repairs, waterproof renovations and heavy-duty repair applications.
Designed to repair and protect both new and deteriorated concrete structures, Hydro Plast combines excellent bonding strength, durability and waterproofing properties in one advanced repair system. The product forms a dense protective repair layer that helps prevent the penetration of chlorides, sulphates and other aggressive contaminants that contribute to concrete deterioration and reinforcing steel corrosion.
Hydro Plast is suitable for both vertical and horizontal repair applications and provides excellent compatibility with existing concrete structures due to its similar thermal expansion properties to conventional concrete.
Its versatile formulation makes it ideal for industrial, commercial, marine and civil repair projects where long-term durability and structural integrity are essential.

Working & Application Thickness
Hydro Plast can typically be applied:
-
From approximately 5mm to 40mm thickness depending on repair geometry.
-
Larger flat areas should generally not exceed 10mm per layer.
-
Multiple layers may be applied once the previous layer has achieved initial set.
Working times may vary depending on ambient temperature and site conditions.
Mixing Instructions
Standard Mixing Ratio
For 1 x 25kg bag of Hydro Plast:
-
Add approximately 3 – 5 litres clean water
Mixing Method
-
Pour the required clean water into a suitable mixing container.
-
Slowly add Hydro Plast powder while mixing continuously.
-
Mix thoroughly until the desired mortar consistency is achieved.
-
Hand mixing is permissible for single bag applications.
-
Apply immediately after mixing.
Important Mixing Notes
-
Do not mix more material than can be used within approximately 20 minutes.
-
Do not re-temper or add additional water once the material has started setting.
-
Excess water may reduce strength and performance.
Surface Preparation
For best results:
-
Remove all loose or deteriorated concrete.
-
Cut back repair areas to expose sound concrete and reinforcing steel where necessary.
-
Mechanically clean exposed reinforcing steel to remove corrosion.
-
Wash reinforcing steel with clean water and allow to dry.
-
Remove grease, oil and contaminants before repair application.
-
Prime prepared surfaces with suitable epoxy or bonding systems where specified.
Application Instructions
-
Prepare the substrate thoroughly before application.
-
Apply Hydro Plast onto the prepared and primed surface while the primer is still tacky or wet where required.
-
Compact the mortar properly into the repair area.
-
Finish the surface to the required profile.
-
For multiple coat applications, allow the first coat to achieve initial set before applying subsequent layers.
-
Cure using water curing methods or suitable curing systems where necessary.
Coverage & Yield
-
Approximate yield: 12 litres per 25kg bag
Coverage will vary depending on application thickness and substrate condition.
