Hydro Sealant – Cementitious Waterproof Coating System

Hydro Sealant is a high-performance cementitious waterproofing system specially formulated for concrete, masonry and water-retaining structures. Designed for both positive and negative waterproofing applications, Hydro Sealant penetrates deep into the substrate and reacts with free lime within the concrete to form a dense crystalline structure that blocks water penetration and becomes an integral part of the surface.

This durable waterproof coating system is ideal for areas exposed to moisture, dampness, hydrostatic pressure and continuous water contact. Hydro Sealant can be applied to damp surfaces and provides long-lasting protection for residential, commercial and industrial applications.

Coverage

Approximate coverage is 1.5kg/m² per coat depending on surface profile and porosity.

Recommended application:
2 coats for optimal waterproofing performance.

Working & Curing Time

• Working time: Approximately 60 minutes at 20°C
• Minimum curing time between coats: 12 hours
• Final curing time depends on temperature and site conditions

Mixing Instructions

Standard Mix Ratio (25kg Kit)

For 1 x 25kg bag of Hydro Sealant:

• Add 3 litres Hydro Bonding Agent
• Add 6 litres clean water

Mixing Method

1. Pour the Hydro Bonding Agent and clean water into a suitable mixing container.
2. Slowly add the Hydro Sealant powder while mixing continuously.
3. Mix thoroughly until a smooth, lump-free slurry is achieved.
4. Allow the mixture to stand for approximately 2 minutes to activate the chemicals.
5. Remix briefly before application.

Important:

• Do not re-temper once the product has started setting.
• Occasionally stir during application to prevent settlement.
• Only mix quantities that can be used within the working time.

Surface Preparation

For best results:

• Surfaces must be clean, sound and free from dust, oil, grease and loose material.
• Remove curing compounds, mould, laitance and contaminants.
• Repair cracks larger than 1mm before application.
• Pre-saturate the surface with clean water prior to coating.
• Remove all free-standing water before application.

Application Instructions

1. Apply the first coat evenly using a brush or block brush.
2. Apply the second coat at right angles to the first coat.
3. Allow a minimum of 12 hours curing between coats.
4. Protect newly treated surfaces from rain, frost and mechanical damage during curing.
