Hydro Stop – Rapid Water Leak Stopping Compound

Hydro Stop is a fast-setting cementitious repair compound specially formulated to instantly stop flowing water leaks in concrete and masonry structures. Designed for emergency waterproof repairs, Hydro Stop reacts rapidly to create an immediate seal against active water pressure and seepage.

This high-performance leak stopping compound is ideal for use in water-retaining structures, underground areas and surfaces exposed to hydrostatic pressure. With a rapid setting time of approximately 1–2 minutes, Hydro Stop is the perfect solution for sealing cracks, holes, pipe penetrations and active leaks before applying permanent waterproofing systems.

Hydro Stop expands slightly during setting to ensure a tight, durable seal and can even be applied in dry powder form directly into active water leaks when required.

Working & Setting Time

• Initial setting time: Approximately 60 seconds

• Full set: 1–2 minutes

• Trafficable after: Approximately 5 minutes

• Load bearing after: Approximately 1 hour

Working times may vary depending on temperature and site conditions.

Mixing & Application Instructions

For Standard Repairs

1. Place a small amount of Hydro Stop powder into a clean mixing container.

2. Slowly add clean water while mixing continuously.

3. Mix to a firm putty-like consistency.

4. Apply immediately, as Hydro Stop sets rapidly within 1–2 minutes.

For Active Flowing Water Leaks

Hydro Stop can also be applied directly in powder form for active water leaks.

1. Force the dry Hydro Stop powder firmly into the leaking crack or opening.

2. Hold firmly in place until the material hardens.

3. Repeat if necessary for severe leaks.

The flowing water activates the product, allowing Hydro Stop to rapidly expand and seal the leak.

Important Application Notes

• Only mix small quantities at a time.

• Do not mix more product than can be applied within 1–2 minutes.

• Do not re-temper once setting begins.

• Ensure all preparation work is completed before mixing due to the rapid setting time.

• Wet surfaces should be prepared and cleaned before application.

• Surfaces must be firm, clean and free from loose dust or plaster.

Surface Preparation

For best results:

• Remove loose material, dust and contaminants before application.

• Ensure the substrate is sound and stable.

• Wet the surface thoroughly before applying mixed material.

• Complete all preparation work before mixing due to the rapid setting characteristics.

Application Instructions

For Cracks & Holes

• Apply mixed Hydro Stop firmly into prepared openings.

• Hold in place until the material hardens completely.

For Severe Active Water Leaks

• Force Hydro Stop dry powder directly into the active leak.

• Maintain pressure until the product sets and seals the leak.
